Meet Ogun - owner of MensPlace
Who cuts your hair at MensPlace?
At MensPlace, you always sit down with Ogun — the owner and sole barber of the shop. Ogun started cutting in 2016 and trained at Youngbloods Amsterdam, widely regarded as one of the best barbering schools in the Netherlands. Over the years, he's built experience with every hair type and texture: from straight Asian hair to coily Afro hair, and everything in between.
His speciality is fades — low, mid and high — but he also cuts classic scissor styles, textured crops and pompadours. Every haircut is fitted to your head shape, hair type and lifestyle. Not sure what suits you? Ogun is happy to talk it through before he picks up the clippers.

Booking an appointment is quick and easy! Simply visit our Booking Page, choose your preferred service, select a time that works for you, and confirm your appointment. You'll receive an instant confirmation, so you know you're all set. If you ever need to reschedule, you can do so through the confirmation email or give us a call.
Yes! While we recommend booking an appointment to secure your spot, we always welcome walk-in clients. If a barber is available, we’ll get you in right away. Otherwise, we’ll let you know the soonest available time so you can come back without a long wait.
We currently accept cash only for all services. If you need to visit an ATM before your appointment, let us know, and we’ll be happy to recommend a nearby location!
We understand that plans change! If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, you can do so through the confirmation email you received when booking. If you run into any issues, feel free to give us a call, and we’ll be happy to assist. We appreciate as much notice as possible so we can accommodate other clients.
The mid fade and skin fade are absolute favourites, especially amongst our expat clients. The mid fade is perfect for a professional look that's not too bold, whilst the skin fade makes a sharper statement. Ogun always advises based on your head shape and lifestyle.
Friday and Saturday are our busiest days. We recommend booking at least 2-3 days in advance for weekends. During weekdays, you can also drop in on the same day thanks to our extended opening hours, but booking 1 day ahead is ideal for securing the best time slot.
Absolutely! Ogun has had experience with all hair textures since 2016, from straight Asian hair to curly Afro hair. He adapts his techniques and tools to your specific hair type for the best results.
Great question! A taper is more subtle with a gradual transition that usually stays longer. A fade goes much shorter (sometimes down to the skin) with a more dramatic transition. Not sure what you want? Ogun is happy to explain during your appointment.
